Hot and spicy Karen Traditional soup (Ta La pott) can make your winter days to be warm and perfect. Ta La pott is very difficult to available in restaurants in Myanmar as I show the way of cooking Ta La pott in the simplest at home. This is about the recipe of Bamboo shoots Tat la pott.
Ingredients (for two people)
- Bamboo shoots (5 sticks)
- Brazil leaves (1 unit)
- Drum Stick leave (1 unit)
- Fish (200kg- 25 kyat Thar) Every kind of fish could be used, carp is better
- Da Nyin Thee (Archidendron Pauciflorum) 2 units
- Some fish paste (nag pi sane sar)
- Some pepper powder
- Green chilli
- Rice powder (could use the crashed rice after watering some minutes)
Cut the bamboo shoots as thin slides and boiled for 30 minutes with small pieces of salt. Then take off the boiling water and put in the pot.
Fish and boiled bamboo shoots mixed in one pot and boiled for 10 to 15 minutes with a half of water. Then take in some fish paste (nagpi sane sar) and slide cut da nyin thee. More 15 mins cook to boil again, after that put the drum stick leave (dant da lon and Brazil leave (pin sain) to the pot. Add pepper powder and more 3 minutes cook again. Finally, added the mixed water with rice power to the soup and boil to be vacuously. The green chilli need to add before to eat. However, the Karen traditional Ta La Pott is ready to eat on the pot.
